Cinnamon Apple French Toast

Cinnamon Apple French Toast

Classic French toast made simple with Jenny Lee Cinnamon Apple Bread.

INGREDIENTS

• 4 slices Jenny Lee Cinnamon Apple Bread
• 2 large eggs
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, for the pan
• 1 tablespoon maple syrup, for serving
• 1 teaspoon powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

STEPS
1. Make the egg mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract until well combined.
2. Dip the bread: Dip each slice of 4 slices Jenny Lee Cinnamon Apple Bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides for a few seconds each - just long enough to soak in without falling apart.
3. Heat the pan: Melt 1 tablespoons unsalted butter, for the pan in a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
4. Cook the dipped slices until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
5. Serve: Plate the French toast and top with 1 tablespoons maple syrup, for serving and a dusting of 1 teaspoon powdered sugar, for dusting (optional) if using. Serve warm.

Notes: Want to dress it up? Top with sautéed apple slices (cooked a few minutes in butter, brown sugar, and a pinch of cinnamon) and a dollop of whipped cream.
